Nelson The Terrible
It must be love. Nelson (the singing cockatoo) is back to his normal self after three months of "therapy". His plucked chest is feathering in nicely and we are hoping that he will not have any disfigurements in a few months. His personality has blossomed now that he is back at his true home.
Unfortunately, he was rather unruly when he left and now, after three months, he is more roudy than ever. He manages to escape from his cage every day. Once out he either lets the other birds out or climbs into their trays and throws all of the paper and other nastier things on the floor. When we try to lock the cage he unscrews every nut he can find. One day Debra heard a crash and walked into the bird room to find the cage in pieces on the floor. Nelson sat in the middle of the pile smiling.
The point is we love it. Nelson's personality fills our house with laughter and happiness. It's hard to be mad at a bird that brings us so much joy.
