Doctor Max
Today was vet day at the Chateau. We're lucky to have a veterinarian that enjoys working with birds and will make house calls. Whenever we have more than two or three animals requiring care and/or maintenance Dr. James Maxwell in Mandeville, LA is more than happy to come for a visit.
The schedule for today was to do followup bloodwork on April the dachsund and trim her claws, check Lilly the cat, trim Prophets feathers and Kiwi's beak and do health certificates on some of the babies. This was Jimmy's first visit to the Chateau so he and his assistant got the complete tour in the J-Mobile.
It's always such fun to ride around with a new visitor and show them the beauty of this place. The Azaleas are in full bloom and are all 8-10' tall. It's kind of overwhelming.
It's also traumatic when company comes, especially your vet, to make sure that everything is spotless and well organized. Trust me, you could eat off the floor around here today.
I think we passed. Hopefully, Jimmy will return with his wife and kids sometime in the future.
If you live on the northshore of Lake Pontchartrain or would like a beautiful drive, Dr. Maxwell is an excellent vet for your bird. He can be reached at Riverside Veterinary Hospital Inc. 2099 North Causeway Boulevard, Mandeville, LA 70471 Phone: (985) 626-7297. Tell him we sent you.
