The Last Boring Nest Box Blog
We've read that Hawkheads and other small parrots do extremely well in a Grandfather Box. The largest Grandfather box we've found is 24" deep and 12" x 12". This is Debra's design that more closely resembles expert recommendations. The box is 36" high and only 10' x 10". The entry is 3.5" and the access hole is 5".
We mentioned using a Pittsburgh seam instead of rivets. The photo on the right is a close-up to demonstrate the beauty of this type of construction. Now I'll let nest boxes rest for awhile and get back to the regular topics of blogging.
